AIDS BENEFIT

Feb. 19, 1983 was unique in Northern Ohio. That was the day that most of the Gay businesses in Northern Ohio got together in the battle against, the Gay-killer, A.I.D.S..

The Benefit/Auction was held at Keys in Cleveland and co-sponsered by businesses in Akron, Cleveland and Toledo.

The co-hosts for the special event were Mike Doyal, from ACTION and the one & only, Totie.

The benefit raised $700.00 that was donated to research in the name of, Northern Ohio Gays.

Kevin & Mark of Keys donated 25% from each drink sold that night, and all of the bartenders gave 25% of their tips for the evening.

The other sponsers who supplied gifts for the auction were: Club Toledo, 0.P. Ballroom Toledo, Club Cleveland, Richard Michaels Florist, A Man's World, Chaps, Exedra, Pickwood Lounge, West 9th St. Club Baths, Vaults, Keys, Leather Stallion Saloon, Club Akron, 0.P. Ballroom Akron and The Coach. There were many other gifts donated, by varied businesses, that night. Thanks to all invovled, it is great to see Ohio working together!!

CIGARS OPENS

A Man's World has opened a new bar, upstairs, called Cigars. The new bar is open on weekends and you must have leather attire on to be admitted. Cigars is all aluminum and burgundy, and features a jukebox, with oldies, at 10¢-a-play or 3-for-25%.

Cigars is a nice alternative to the Hot Disco, A Man's World, downstairs.
